CONSTRUCTING A DYNAMIC, INTERACTIVE ONLINE PROFILE THAT UNIFIES DIVERSE TECHNICAL AND ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPERIENCES INTO A SINGLE, PROFESSIONAL, AND CLIENT-FACING PORTFOLIO AS A DIGITAL CV.
This project involved the self-development of the GoingPIXEL Profile Page, serving as a comprehensive digital showcase for its founder, George Oliver. The primary goal was to move beyond the limitations of a traditional paper CV by creating a centralized, engaging web platform that clearly articulates a unique professional duality: System Test Engineering expertise combined with hands-on Web Design and Development proficiency. The platform was engineered to function as a powerful, 24/7 selling tool, offering potential clients and employers an immediate, high-impact understanding of capabilities.
Requirements
The core requirement was to build a cohesive Digital CV that synthesised two distinct career paths: System Test Engineering and Website Design. This demanded a platform capable of hosting an expansive portfolio, managing downloadable documents, and clearly articulating high-level technical skills (e.g., Jira, WooCommerce, WordPress) in a structured, user-friendly manner for both potential employers and web design clients.
Design
The design objective was to create a modern, professional, and visually compelling single-page experience. The layout needed to be highly organized to transition smoothly between different professional facets (Tech vs. Web Design). Key design elements included a clear navigational structure, striking visual hierarchy to highlight achievements (Projects Worked, Years Experience), and dedicated contact sections to maximize lead generation and professional outreach.
Strategy
The strategic focus was on dual-audience engagement and efficiency. The page was structured to provide a 'quick glance' overview for rapid professional assessment while offering detailed sections for deeper exploration. The strategy utilized WordPress and a robust builder (Breakdance) to ensure easy content updates, maintain high site performance, and position the profile page itself as a direct, high-quality demonstration of goingpixel.co.uk's design and development capabilities.
