Pottymouth Designs is a distinctive online retailer specialising in a unique range of merchandise, including custom stickers, quirky plant pots, and greeting cards, with an inventory of approximately 80–100 products. The client needed to move away from the limitations of their Etsy shop, which hindered stability and control, and required a more professional, self-hosted e-commerce solution to support future growth and product complexity. goingpixel.co.uk developed and implemented a full migration strategy, building a bespoke, scalable e-commerce website using WordPress and WooCommerce. The project delivered a stable, feature-rich platform by integrating Stripe for reliable payments, implementing advanced product builders for customisation, and developing better search functionality to manage the expanding product catalog effectively.

Requirements

The primary requirement was to migrate Pottymouth Designs from a restrictive third-party platform (Etsy) to a stable, scalable, and independent WooCommerce e-commerce solution. This demanded robust payment integration (Stripe), stable management for 80–100 products, and the ability to handle complex product customisation and variations.

Design

The design focused on creating a clean, intuitive, and conversion-focused interface. While retaining the brand's unique personality, the aesthetic needed to be professional and trustworthy. Key design elements included a clear, product-focused layout, high-quality photography presentation, and a streamlined checkout process to minimise cart abandonment.

Strategy

The core strategy involved a complete platform transition and feature enhancement. We used WordPress/WooCommerce for flexibility and ownership. The strategy included implementing advanced product builders for customisation, optimising site performance for speed, and integrating tools for better SEO and product discoverability to support long-term, self-driven growth.
